Nov 19th 2009- Highs and lows of football, on Tuesday we started the game where we left off in the previous game v Thurrock. We were completly dominating the game for 35 mins, everyone could only see one winner. Then it changed, not because the opposition got any better, but because we stopped doing all the things we had done so well.
Nov 10th 2009 - Very pleased with the performance against Thurrock Tuesday night, and for the neutral a great game to watch. To make 4 changes and still look strong was very pleasing ,as my aim recently has been to improve our strength in depth.
Nov 8th 2009 - Another good win for us yesterday, things are going well for us at the moment. Looking forward to Tuesdays Essex senior cup game, a good opportunity to make sure the squad get some important minutes.
Nov 1st 2009 - Yesterdays first 30 minutes of football was the best i've seen from a team of mine since I became manager. 5 times we produced good flowing pass and move football and each time it ended with an end product.
Again the front two were very good, with great support from Max Cornhill not only did Max score he also produced the pass of the day for Kris Newby to score. The 5 goal advantage allowed me to introduce from the bench my two new signings Joe Stevens and Sam Berry both players I feel will play a big part in our season.
Oct 26th 2009 - After last weeks disapointing performance away at V C D, I am pleased to say we were back on track on Saturday with a 4-0 win away at Enfield Town. The game included many excellent performances, but for me 3 players stood out. Chris Barry made a rare start in the centre of midfield where he was involved in all of our good play. Sam Higgins again got himself on the scoresheet with two very well taken goals, and finally Steve West. I know a few questions were asked when I signed him, but anybody who watched Saturdays game would of seen for themselves why I decided to make Steve my centre forward and the target man we had been lacking.
Oct 12th 2009 - Saturdays win against Wingate and Finchley was our best of the season so far. Our all round play was very good, and the fact we scored 3 goals and again conceded none, was pleasing also. The front two Steve West and Sam Higgins were excellent, and was a big difference to our recent forwards performances.
Again this week I have released a player, Ben Boyce has been asked to leave the club over a disciplinary matter. I am dissapointed that this has had to be done as Boycie is a player I have always thought highly of, but sometimes when a player has only known one club it often works out better for all concerned. I really hope Ben goes on to fulfill the potential he has always shown, and from all at East Thurrock FC we wish him the very best at where he plays.
Oct 7th 2009 - The last 3 weeks has seen us draw 1 and lose 3 in 4 games, our worst run for a very long time.Obviously im not happy but there has been reasons for the poor results. I expect to see an improvement over the next few weeks as I have signed Steve West from Margate and Sam Higgins from Hornchurch. Both players are forwards as this is an area we need to improve.
Westy will take the role as player coach and will play a important part in the club set up, Sam will join the squad this Saturday, I'm looking forward to seing Sam in our line up as he is a player I rate highly.
Another change to our squad is the release of Kurt Smith, I made the decision after his sending off at Waltham Forest. I would like to wish Kurt all the best at his next club and thank him for his services to East Thurrock FC.
Sep 27th 2009 -Well we went out of the FA cup yesterday,to say im dissapointed is a understatement. We matched a side two levels above ourselves, but the difference was they took their chances and we did not. This is the third time in three games missed chances have cost us.
To make things worse the 1st goal was offside and the linesman was behind play, this can be seen in the photos on the welling website. As for the lack of goals thats something i will address this week.
Sept 21st 2009 - How we lost at Wakering on Saturday, I will never know. To say we should have scored 7 is about right. But goals wins games they got 2 and we couldn't even make the keeper make a save from the penalty spot.
Thankfully today I have something to smile about, I am pleased to announce the signing of Carl Bruce from Redbridge FC. There could be more new faces to follow.
Aug 31st 2009 - Another 3 points, we go top of the league, and we win manager of the month! Im really pleased with the award it just goes to show how hard the players have worked. I know its called manager of the month, but at this level it should be club of the month, because there is a small group of people who work together to make these things happen. Aug 29th 2009 - Started slow could of conceded early on. Then after 25 mins we scored and from then only one winner. More hard work rewarded. Well done to the squad and onto the next round of the FA Cup!
Aug 26th 2009 - A great first half performance, 2-0 up but should of been 6! Richard never had a shot to save all night. Difficult place to go, 3 points and on to the F A cup on Saturday.
Aug 22nd 2009 - After a difficult week it was really pleasing to see that all of the hard work in training and our plans before the game, payed off. I give full credit to all of the players. This we have added two additonal players to the squad, John Docker a mid-fielder and Luke Dodd a goalkeeper.
Aug 15th 2009 - Worst pitch you will ever find on the opening day of the season. We went 2-0 down, can't blame the pitch for that we were awfull! After 30 minutes there was a big improvement and we scored 3. Our keeper never had a shot to save in the 2nd half. 3 points move on!
Aug 8th 2009 - Really successful day, our tenants Hutton Football club and us really enjoyed the day and we look forward to a good relationship throughout the season!
Aug 5th 2009 - Very pleased with our performance last night, Kurt Smith returned with 2 goals and Ben Wood took to the pitch for the first time this season,to crown an enjoyable evening.
Aug 4th 2009 - More good news for Donners, he became a dad this morning. Congratulations from all at the Club.
Aug 1st 2009 - James Donovan came through 90 minutes today in our 3-3 draw at Erith Town.
